- "Paisley Cat" Framed Hooked Rug, 1996 - Emeline Morrow Miner (1914-1997) started work on this rug in 1996; the rug--created as a gift for her daughter-in-law-- remains unfinished due to Miner's declining health. Miner was a self-taught artist originally from Cedar Rapids, Iowa; she created all of her patterns and even made her materials by thrifting and repurposing old clothes. Miner also did macrame, quilting, leatherwork, and watercolor.
